- Scanned computer for codes P0304 was present. Technician swapped cylinder 2 and 4 coils and misfire did not follow. Technician then swapped cylinder 2 and 4 fuel injectors and misfire did not follow. Technician then removed all coils and spark plugs and performed a compression test and found that cylinder 4 had low compression. Technician then performed leak down test on cylinder 4 and found it had 30 percent leakage. Customer agreed to remove engine and inspect for issue.
- Replaced VVT solenoid.
- Perform fuel/ air induction service, Cleans throttle body and air intake, Removes carbon from valves, piston crowns and combustion chambers. Removes deposits from the catalytic converter and adds fuel system cleaner to fuel tank. Recommend topping off fuel tank.
- Technician removed engine and disassembled to inspect mechanical issue. Technician found all the exhaust valve clearances were tight which caused burnt valve seats. Repaired valve issue and reassembled engine and test drove vehicle. All systems functioning properly at this time.
- Recondition heads, Jet washed and bead blasted heads. R&R camshafts and ground valves and adjusted valves. Drilled and installed helicoil due to broken and stripped bolt.
